The continuing misadventures of Saucy Jack

The relationship between G33K41F3 and Jack the Ripper is getting a little out of hand.

After a quick blurb back in June about more bullshit Jack the Ripper theories I began to get hit with a lot of Ripper-related traffic, mostly likely from some very, very disappointed people.

How disappointed? Well, imagine if you were Googling the words "jack the ripper porn" and found my site. Which is exactly what somebody did. I have this feeling that Dalek and Batman porn just didn't do it for them (and I try not to think to much about what "it" might entail. I'm going to tell myself it was someone doing research so I don't have to send Igor down to the local medical hospital to fetch me a new brain.)

And here's the really funny part: when you Google "jack the ripper porn" the search engine pulls up G33K4L1F3 as its fourth favorite selection.

FOURTH.

The Real Nimoy

Leonard Nimoy (at least, someone claiming to be Leonard Nimoy ... you never can tell with Twitter) is posting some interesting photos over at TheRealNimoy. He's been taking photos longer than he's been acting so when he's got images he wants to share you can bet they'll be interesting. Even his family photos are telling, such as the last image posted above of Nimoy cutting his grandson's hair. "It runs in the family," he notes in the cutline. "My dad was a barber."

Bill has been Killed

Back in August, Andrew Wilson offered his readers a free postcard showcasing his original Kill Bill art, which you can see above. Even better, Wilson threw in a few sketch on the back of the postcard! I'm guess there were two version of the card available, because the version I received featured the left-hand portion of the art with Go Go Yubari. To your left is his sketch of one of the Crazy 88 from the back of my postcard. Thanks, Andrew!*

While I'm here, I ought to mention that he's got a book for sale. You can pick up Forgotten Kingdom of Imaginary Friends (a 72-page full color hardcover) by clicking here. You can also get a look at the cover and interior art at that link, too.

*And, if Andrew Wilson reads this: sorry it took so long to give you a shout out. My post card took the scenic route through no fault of yours.

And I mean that without an iota of sarcasm.

R2-D2 DVD projector

Nikko has assured itself a place in Geek Valhalla for the creation of the new R2-D2 DVD projector. The new toy mirrors the function of its on-screen counterpart by projecting movies, photos and video games through a projector in its head. It also contains a DVD player, iPod dock, FM wireless audio and an Awesome Sauce dispenser (though that last feature might be purely metaphorical.) Watch the video and get ready to geek the fuck out. The pre-order price for the R2D2 projector is about $4,000.

Zombie Star Wars!

Funko 's Monster Mash-Ups has a new line of Star Wars-themed bobble heads available. I've long avoided the bobble-head craze ... I simply have too many additions already. Comics. Movies. Music. Toys. If I add anything else to the mix I'm going to have to start streetwalking to pay for it. I'd do anything for Star Wars but I won't do that (no, I won't do that.)

Available are Gargoyle Yoda,  Frankenstein Darth Vader, Werewolf Chewbacca and Skeleton Stormtrooper. Or get a set of all four and save a few bucks.

Build your own Dalek (Genocide not included)

Say you needed a soulless army of killing machines to devastate a neighboring planet. Or, maybe, you were shooting a fetish film that needed that special touch. What would you do?

Most of us would go to Amazon.com and buy whatever killing machine they had on sale, but that's not really cost effective, is it? Any experienced megalomaniac will tell you that world conquest can be done on a budget and that it's sometimes best to create your own army from scratch. That's how the Confederacy of Independent Systems did it. That's how Skynet does it. And it seems to have worked out pretty well so far.

TomR's Media Creations has just the thing to help you get started: DALEK BLUE PRINTS!

The website has a collection of hi-rez scans of a Dalek that illustrate, step-by-step, how to build one yourself.

Twin Peaks by mc chris

Let's celebrate the release of a new mc chris song with this fan-made video for Twin Peaks, a song he released last April 1 at his MySpace page (MySpace is still around? Weird.) The lyrics are amazingly detailed and suggest more than just a passing interest in the show. My favorite part? "That's right! I put a Ghostbusters reference into a song about Twin Peaks! Everybody's happy!"

FREE MUSIC: Han Solo
by mc chris

Over at mc chris' Facebook page he warned fans that there would be an announcement at midnight. First it looked like the news was that t-shirts at his website would be $10 for the next 24 hours, which is a pretty good deal. He followed that with even better news: a free download link to a new song called Han Solo.

I don't know how long the link will be active, but for now you can get it by clicking here.

And don't miss out of the t-shirt sale here. He's got shirts featuring werewolves and zombies and shit.

(Note: I didn't have any art to go along with this post so threw together a quickie cover for the song. If you hate it, don't blame mc. He doesn't know it exists.)

Toyetic: Gotham City, part 1

This week I've taken a few photos of my toy collection, experimenting with lighting, exposure and color to see what kind of images I could create. I didn't have any particular goal in mind when I started. In fact, it began on a whim as I used the camera in my cell phone to take some shots of a friend's action figure display last weekend.

I've been posting them at my Facebook page this week and decided to share a few of them here. First up: the Denizens of Gotham City!

Chewbacca Vs. the Nazis

Oh, and a giant, squirrel, too. Because the image wouldn't have been weird enough without a wookie riding a giant rodent.

Zombie Star Trek!

Not a hoax! Not a dream! Not an imaginary story!
Quirk Books has created a trailer for its novel Night of the Living Trekkies, which I didn't even know was a thing. And now I have to have it!

From TrekMovie.com:

"Quirk Books, who specialize in ‘mashup’ fiction like "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" have a new book out that imagines a zombie outbreak at a Star Trek convention called "Night of the Living Trekkies". Quirk has now created a trailer for the book. The video is pretty funny and shows this idea has some comedy potential, so maybe someone will option this book for a movie or a TV show."

You know what else I didn't know was a thing? Shatnerquake.
