Awesome JAWS event this weekend in Ohio

Tomorrow night the Cedar Lee Theatre, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, is hosting cool-looking Jaws event. Not only will they be screening the movie on Saturday, Oct. 2, but a neighboring bar and restaurant will be serving the following items:

* Bloody Water shots at Parnell's Pu
* Special 'Shark Melt' sandwich at Melt all weekend
* Special appearance by JAWS himself, signing autographs for a donation of $1 (partial proceeds from the screening and sandwich will go towards the World Wildlife Fund)

Man ... I've always wanted to meet Jaws! I hear he's much nicer than Shatner.

Jaws 2 Posterpalooza

Rationally, I understand that Jaws 2 is not a very good movie. Not only does it have the depth of a Friday the 13th sequel, but the entire premise — that of a second killer shark terrorizing the same beach community from the first film — is amazingly ridiculous. But nostalgia (not to mention my love of '70s excess) makes sure there's always room in my heart for this bizarre bit of trash.

Below is an assortment of posters and other marketing materials used to promote Jaws 2 around the world.

Jaws 3-D Trading Cards: The Movie

Well, here it is ... Jaws 3-D, the way it was meant to be seen. In this interpretation of the movie the characters are supposed to be cardboard, the special effects intentionally campy and the acting ... well, there's not really any acting. All that, and you can watch the whole movie in less than two minutes.

So grab your 3-D glasses, sit back and enjoy the show!

Plans for a Jaws
model kit from 1975

Here's something I stumbled on during a recent (web) surfing expedition: plans for a Jaws model kit from 1975. I have no idea if this was ever produced and can't recall ever seeing this kit, which is odd.
