Mark Evanier is reporting that artist Frank Frazetta has died. Media outlets are saying the artist died today, but that the cause of death is pending.
Frazetta was the prototypical fantasy artist, one of those guys that anyone with an interest in the medium is required to obsess over at some stage in their careers. He had a style all his own, and it was impossible to play in his sandbox without having to directly ape him. And nothing brings out an artist's deficiencies like having to follow Frank Frazetta.
Sad to have him gone.
